Psychoses Developed In Epileptic Patients

Abstract
The author reported two cases of psychosis developed in patients with long history of epilepsy. One had complex partial seizure, and one had generalized tonic clonic seizure, and both developed psychotic symptoms after remission of seizure attacks by long-term use of anticonvulsants. Compared with the previous studies, these cases are thought to be the example for the phenomenon of ¡¯forced normalization¡¯, which is characterized by an antagonistic relationship between seizures and psychotic symptomatology in patients who manifest both.
